We are a family owned & operated thoroughbred farm in Central Victoria. My partner Frank & myself Emily, purchased Rushton Park from the lovely David & Kayley Johnson in May 2024.

 

Frank comes from a construction & farming background, I managed to inject horses into his blood 14 years ago, when we built & ran a large horse agistment farm in Nar Nar Goon Victoria for 10 years.

I come from a horse riding & breeding background, it started when I was 2yo and hasn't stopped 40+ years later!

Growing up I competed every weekend, from dressage, showing, show jumping, hunting right through to eventing, if there was an event on, I went! I also broke a lot of horses to saddle and took horses in for work before and after school/work.

In my 20's I then went onto to polish my existing skills and ride breakers with the brilliant Cliff Saunders in Garfield Victoria. I treasure this time in my life, Cliff was a beautiful human and one of the best horsemen, I am very thankful to have learnt from him.

More recently I have a couple of performace horses that I campaign, one in the cutting arena and the other is a true allrounder, we have succesfully competed in cutting, reining, cowhorse, western dressage, ranch, showjumping, english dressage & english showing!

Frank & I have a handful of our own thoroughbred mares that we have bred from over the last 4 or 5 years, our main focus was breed to race. More recently we have made a move towards breeding for weanling/yearling sales.

In summary, we get the biggest thrill out of foaling down and working with young horses, we are huge beleivers in giving them your time and they will repay you 10 fold.
